Meet Kevin McEvoy
from Classical Art at Home

Hello, I'm Kevin McEvoy, the artist and teacher here at Classical Art at Home. This is the place to learn how to draw! I created this program along with my wife, Margaret, who works alongside me, helping to design the behind the scenes.  We are so glad you are here!

Above is a picture of myself with one of my students and his master copy drawing of Leonardo da Vinci's "Knight with a Winged Helmet." Below is a testimonial written by his mother Rosie.
Classical Art at Home has been nothing short of a gift for my 10 year old son. The livestreams in particular have offered him a window into not only a mastery of art technique, but also into the intricacy and magnificence of God's intelligent design. Kevin McEvoy goes beyond the pencil and paper and has offered my son the opportunity to see the world around him with a lens of beauty and wonder for which I am truly grateful."

Benefits

Here are three things about myself:

I have a passion for drawing

that was ignited as a boy- and really came to life when my mother took away our television. (I was upset initially, but then came to love it!) In my youth I really enjoyed drawing people, and I still do. I've travelled the world painting people's portraits and telling their stories - I'm an Irish Storyteller at heart. You might even hear me pull out my fiddle from time to time in the middle of an art lesson.

I'm proud to provide a wholesome Classical Art Curriculum for homeschoolers

around the world, including my own 5 children, who we homeschool. When we create art, it is almost like having a conversation with nature, and in drawing and painting from nature we can enter into God's Wonder.

I am a Florentine trained professional portrait painter, and I've taught art for 17 years to students of all ages and walks of life.

My lessons incorporate the classical methods acquired in Italy, and are applied to drawing and painting the world around us, seeking out the poetry of everyday life.  Every lesson is suffused with not just technical ideas, but with art history. Students do remarkably well in this art lesson/art history environment. Regardless of age or skill level, students are warmly welcomed.

Our mission is to make classical art both relatable and accessible, while enjoying God's Creation.

Draw and Paint the world around you.
